In 1929, Smith Tank began operations in Tyler, TX, serving the booming East Texas petroleum industry. Initially a supplier of stationary and truck-mounted tanks for petroleum products, we have expanded our product offerings during our nearly 100 years in operation.
Today, we are a favored supplier of liquid storage systems for the food industry, a major supplier of horizontal and vertical aboveground storage tanks (ASTs) for the petroleum and chemical industries, and a worldwide supplier of water, oil, and fuel tanks.
Smith Tank is situated on 28 wooded acres in Tyler, Texas. We have over 84,000 square feet of high bay production area, 10,000 square feet of parts and storage, and 2,000 square feet of office space.
But that’s not what makes us different.
What makes us different is the fact that we’re family-owned and operated, and our products are fully customizable.
Smith Tank & Equipment was founded by the Smith family and purchased by the Blairs in 1985. We have complete control over the quality of our products and customer service. We’re not governed by a board or a group of investors who are more interested in turning a profit than in delivering a superior product.
